Beetle Deedum

She held both hands to her mouth to keep from breathing too hard, trying to stay quiet as she hid under the bed, her eyes stayed vigilant on the open doorway mere meters in front of her. That was when a pair of feet came into view out the hallway, no footsteps could be heard as it floated off the ground, no decipherable sound other than—

Thunk!

She managed to keep from screaming as a beetle-like limb landed near the foot of the bed where she hid, the reason for the pair of feet to hang off the ground now that its host body could rely on its metamorphosis, but it needed to feed to sustain its form. And she was the only one left surviving.

A soft clicking could be heard from somewhere atop, the creature’s mandibles surely still getting used to having grown out the sides of a once human mouth— getting used to the hunt as it searched for more prey.

It was only when the human-beetle left the room did she let herself catch her breath, quietly creeping out from her hiding spot to get to the security room to call for help, all the while imagining that the limbs she passed by were all part of some sick Halloween decoration.

When she reached the security room, she then noticed from one of the monitors that the creature was close behind her, quickly locking herself inside before she breathed a sigh of relief. Until she noticed from the monitor that the creature was nowhere to be seen in the hall she came from, that was when something warm dribbled down the side of her arm, the sound of clicking mandibles encapsulated the tiny room, before she looked up.

Taha Stories

Boiling Blood For The Meal

It was a thick and silent night in 2016. At this hour of the night when everyone is asleep and only the moon is watching the embers of terror in the sky, drops of blood fall down my face. The sound of drops of blood and panic cause me to open my eyes. When I open my eyes I found myself in a red castle. The red castle looks like it is stained with blood. Seeing my hands tied, sweat begins to form on my forehead.

It seems as if I have lost my ability to speak and a strange fog appears before my eyes. There were so many whispers in that fog that my ears cannot handle those whispers. Amidst all these whispers, a bride appears, walking towards me in a red ensemble. The sight of her is so frightening that my legs begin to tremble. The thirst for man-eating in her eyes eating me from inside. His hands and feet were clinging to me like sharp knives. But to my luck when terrifying bride reached me she untied my hands. Fear of being dead was still over my head.

Bride took me outside of the red castle. It was the Black Ground of the red castle where so many phantoms were boiling blood for the meal of Terrifying bride. Phantoms gave me a spooky smile. Infront of me they cut the throat of a human and start drinking the blood. Blood was dripping drop after drop from their scary lips. Their giant teeth were now red with blood. It was my turn to become their breakfast. My eyes were dripping the tears with terror and skin was getting tight. I don’t know from where I got that much power but my hands were on the neck of the bride. She was looking at me but I was in wraith that I crunched her neck and she died.

My laughter was so loud that phantoms were moving haphazardly. To save myself I ran and ran. I reached back my home but my hands and face was covered with layer of creepy blood. I was trying to wash but that was not going back. Amidst the struggle my eyes opened and I realized that was the dream but my hands were red in reality! It was a dream under shade of dream.
